An owner of a horse contacted me years ago. Her male horse had gastric problems.
My initial impression was that this horse had cancer of the stomach. I felt that he possibly had a viral infection that was affecting his intestinal system. I stressed the importance of contacting a veterinarian for diagnostic testing.
The owner did not follow my suggestion. The horse died a few months later. An autopsy revealed stomach cancer.
Next up - Pony did not like his name!
